What environmental problems might dam create?
Downstream, the land can dry out or the flow of the river can slow, creating marshier land than a swift flowing river will. At the actual location of the dam obviously the water will build up and cover land. There is the risk that the dam will break, causing flash floods. All of these things affect the environment.
