In the European Union (EU), how might environmental problems affect a nation's economy?

e.u: european unionIn the European Union (EU), how might environmental problems affect a nation's economy?Very simple, just think about the garbage everyone of us make. If we all throw the rubbish in the street, who is going to clean up? Logically it is the government, but where the gov't gets the money? Of course from the citizens. If we throw less rubbish, we are saving the money from the government indirectly and on the other hand, the money can be used for other stuff, like building hospital, giving free education, better social security, building public zones (gardens), etc.



But this is only a national issue, back to the EU level, if one country makes too much pollution, let's say air-pollution, the polluted air might fly to another member state and affects the citizens of "clean air" member state.



All in all, i think environmental problems surely affects to one's nation/economy.
