What kind of problems result from each problem? Which do you think is the greater threat and why?

Many people regard the rapid population growth in developing countries as our most serious environmental problem. Others feel that population growth in developed countries, though slower, is actually a greater threat to the environment. What kind of problems result from each problem? Which do you think is the greater threat and why?All population growth is a problem, not just that which occurs in developing countries. Resources are being consumed at an unsustainable rate. In the US, we compose aprrox. 55 of the worlds population but we CONSUME something like 20% of the worlds resources. The environment can not sustain this for too much longer before famines become more widespread. Some thrid world countries actually have negative population growth because of lack of healthcare and good nutrition. Although the law of 1 child per family in China may seem harsh it is really necessary. In developed countries people have smaller families because they do not need additional family member in order to support the family unit. One things certain, people in developing countries will suffer the most. What kind of problems result from each problem? Which do you think is the greater threat and why?first one -

they're worried about that because as our population increases, our resources decrease, which means that if there might not be enough resources for everyone in the future.

second one -

slower population means that there's something wrong, or that the economy is going down and we can't afford to have babies so that's why others are worried about that.

i think both of them are big threats, just because they both have a big problem behind them and it can happen at anytime.
