Corsslinking - environmental problems?

what is the environmental problem associated with crosslining polymers?Corsslinking - environmental problems?Crosslinked polymers are insoluble and infusible. That means that they are almost non-biodegradable, because water and microorganisms can't get at them. And they can't be melted up and recycled as noncrosslinked polyethylene and polyester can. People have looked into hydrolyzing thermosetting polyester and polyurethane into their monomer components, but that's an enbergy-intensive process.
