What is the biggest environmental problem facing the Indian Ocean?
Thanks!Biggest Environmental Problem in the Indian Ocean? At least three serious environmental problems are plaguing the Indian Ocean. The first one is the brown cloud made of pollutants hovering over the Ocean, the size of a continent, which is dimming sunlight, contributing to climate change, threatening biological species as well as human health, and triggering acid rains which destroy the forests. The second one is the dumping of toxic industrial waste and even nuclear waste directly into the Ocean, presumably by companies from Italia and Switzerland. The third one is the depletion of fisheries.
Global warming is also threatening coastal areas and indian ocean islands like the Maldives which could disappear under the rising ocean waters and trigger climatic migrations.Biggest Environmental Problem in the Indian Ocean?pollution
