Are pollution and other environmental problems the price we have to pay for a modern, industrial society?

A modern society is any society in existence today, because modern means contemporary. And an industrial society is any society that engages in large-scale industry, which is: "diligent activity directed to some purpose". A diligent activity is an activty that is "marked by persevering, painstaking effort", such as farming. There is no use of factories and machines that cause pollution or require pollution to build them, because these are mere luxuries, with which we can do without, however we can not live with out a healthy environment.



Eventually we will have to abandon the current technologies and machinery that require pollution on small-scale and large-scale. The alternative to the luxurious life of electricity and automobiles, is the farm life, a life in which we use nothing but simple tools and "raw human labor". The reason why we have to get rid of non-farming activities, is because they inevitably lead to pollution-causing activities and technologies.



The most important thing on Earth is food, without food, we won't be able to live, the world has a lot of war and crime due to lack of access to adequate food, which is a result of poverty. Poverty is a result of capitalism. Capitalism is a result of the pollution-causing industries that are making the world have global warming and causing health problems for many people.



If we abolish capitalism with all of its pollution and over-population centers (towns and cities), and replace it with a return to the countryside on a socialist basis with no capitalist inventions, than the world will be saved from the large-scale permanent contamination that would eventually destroy all agriculture, which is the basis for out food. This will not only put an immediate stop to further permanent polluting of the environment, but will also get rid of all the crime and war in the world by getting rid of hunger.
