Most of the environmental problems for recycling are the same problems of manufacturing from virgin material, transportation, toxic waste, use of harmful chemicals etc.
Recycling metals and glass have less impact than using virgin materials. Paper has higher transportation impacts, but that can be changed by increasing the number of paper plants that recycle paper. Plastics have the worst impact, but that is true of manufacturing plastics too. I avoid plastics in all forms as much as possible. There is a reason China produces so much of the plastic items we use in the US, it would cost a fortune to produce plastics under US EPA guidelines, in China they can use all the toxic chemicals and dispose fo the waste in a cheaper way, but it is at a great cost to the long term health of their environment. What are the environmental problems for recycling? ?Currently the average recycling rate in the U.S. is at about 30%. We should be able to divert a lot more of our waste stream from landfills! If we recycled everything we could, we could increase our recycling rate to above 50%... and that would be fantastic.
One of the major concerns with recylcing is that there isn't always a market for the recycled material. Landfills sell their recylced materials to companies that re-process the material and make something new. But plastic for example, isn't really all that useful. It has to be cost effective to recycle and process the material. That includes paying to transport the material and energy to process it.
Lately, there are companies making a lot of clothing out of recycled plastic. This is great and I encourage everyone to buy recycled materials. If we encourage businesses to use recycled material in their products, we are making a difference.
What are the environmental problems for recycling? ?
Well I guess that it takes a lot of energy to smash it all together. Plus the extra gas fumes from the trucks that take it to the plant. What are the environmental problems for recycling? ?A sizeable proportion of recyclates from the UK are simply dumped in landfill in India. The councils here are trying to cover it up though. What are the environmental problems for recycling? ?
Another fleet of gas-hogging, pollution-spewing trucks runs their routes weekly. What are the environmental problems for recycling? ?In some cases - it takes MORE energy to recycle a good than it does to produce a NEW good................

If i leave electricity hanging on like my computer,...would it cause environmental problems? wat DOES it cause?
wat DOES it cause besides money? If i leave electricity hanging on like my computer,...would it cause environmental problems? wat DOES it cause? Most electricity in the U.S. is produced by burning coal, which is extremely polluting. So the more electricity you use, the more coal as burned -- and the more pollution is caused. So using less electricity doesn't just save money, it prevents pollution, too.
The best way to save electricity with your computer is to set it to Sleep/Standby automatically when you're not using it.
In Windows XP go to Start %26gt; Control Panel %26gt; Power Options
On a Mac go to System Preferences %26gt; Energy Saver

An environmental problem or issue related to the use of technology.?
I can't find an environmental problem that is related to technology. I know there has to be a lot of them but when I use google or bing I can't find one. It is for a project at school, can someone give me a easy and fast one because it is due soon and I gave up trying to find one from the news and stuff. An environmental problem or issue related to the use of technology.?wind generators can kill birds
Is the cause of littering related to human values and environmental ethics?
I am working on an assignment that asks me to determine an environmental problem in my community and I chose littering. The assignment also asks me to determine rather or not the cause of littering is related to human values and environmental ethics. I haven't been able to find a solid and simple definition of human values and environmental ethics so I cannot seem to determine the answer to the question. Any help please!?Is the cause of littering related to human values and environmental ethics? To us humans, we value ourselves more than others.
For example, I can walk the extra 10m to drop the sweet wrapper in the bin, or I can "drop" it on the floor and save time. Of course, that will increase the cleaner's workload, but it doesn't affect me directly. Is the cause of littering related to human values and environmental ethics? It's due to laziness, because some jackass doesn't want to carry that gum wrapper to the the nearest trashcanword translator

Can you list 10 environmental problems that we have in this planet? 10 points!!!?
It's all about science! ;-)Can you list 10 environmental problems that we have in this planet? 10 points!!!?Probably.....
. air pollution
. water contamination
food contamination
. landfills are getting full
pollution from factories are ruining our ozone layer
. climate change
using up non-renewable resources
ToxinsCan you list 10 environmental problems that we have in this planet? 10 points!!!?Yes, I can list 10 environmental problems that we have in (and also on) this planet.
Thanks for the 10 points - I answered the question you asked.
Oh, did you mean you wanted me to actually list them?
1. Water pollution
2. Air pollution
3. Noise pollution
4. Light pollution
5. Garbage
6. Toxins in our food
7. Reliance on fossil fuels
8. Damage to the ozone layer
9. Climate change due to increased greenhouse gases
10. Intelligence, ambition, and creativity of the general population of humans decreasing each generationCan you list 10 environmental problems that we have in this planet? 10 points!!!?Humans, human technology, human waste, human structures, human eating habits, human burial rituals, human footprints, human exhaled gases, (is that ten yet?)Can you list 10 environmental problems that we have in this planet? 10 points!!!?

How can use of river bed for recreational activities cause environmental problems/?
like allowing the use of river bed (if th eriver passes through city) for exhibitions, circus etc.How can use of river bed for recreational activities cause environmental problems/?Because the turbulence will stir up sediment sending it down stream choking out fish and other aquatic life. Also if you are talking in a city there could be the possibility of contaminated sediment that would get stirred up as well. How can use of river bed for recreational activities cause environmental problems/?There are many problems that can occur.
1.) People leaving their trash (cans, bottles, papers, etc) near the river or dumping them in the water. This can cause harm to birds who may accidentally eat plastic or indigestable items.
2.) People causing disruption to the sediments. The turbidity will cause probelms for the organisms. If the turbidity is constant for a while, it may disrupt the amount of light reaching any plants growing at the river bottom.
3.) Erosion. If people are walking on the banks, vegetation may be damaged and cause massive erosion. When it rains, there will be no grass or other plants soaking up the water or keeping the sand from falling into the river.
4.) Pollution: chemicals and other harmful toxins will cause harm to any of the organisms in the river. Fish, plants, microorganisms, frogs, etc. This may disrupt the food chain and equilibrium of the ecosystem.
I hope this helped!
