Where to find good pizza in Minneapolis area?

I just moved to Minneapolis from the Chicagoland area. I can't seem to find any good pizza here and I was looking for help. Every place I try tastes like cardboard pizza like Domino's or Little Ceasars or Pappa Murphy's. Everybody I ask here tells me to try one of the places that is a chain. Any suggestions on where to find good Chicago style pizza? I'm in the Eden Prairie/Chanhassen area. I miss the good pizza that Chicago has.Where to find good pizza in Minneapolis area?
I think there's a place in St. Paul called Pizza Lucia or something that is pretty good.....Savoy Pizza in St. Paul is also very good...but not your typical Chicago style pizza.Where to find good pizza in Minneapolis area?
Davanni's does a decent Chicago-style deepdish. I go for the pepperoni / mushrooms / extra-cheese, but that's just a personal assortment of course. Several locations. I can't tremember if there's one in Eden Prairie / Chan --- but there is one in Minnetonka, on Hwy 7 about one-and-a-half miles East of Hwy 101 intersection. That's not too far from you.

Probably not quite up to best Chicago pizza levels, but not too far off. And way better than that pansy New York thin stuff.Where to find good pizza in Minneapolis area?
All of the people I have met who have moved here from Chicago kvetch about the Italian food here and how it's so bland....so I hesitate to recommend anything. That said, I would second Davanni's, which I think is exceptionally good for Minnesota. The sauce is actually good, the crust is "crusty" (if that makes sense) and not cardboard and tasteless like chain store pizza, and they use fresh toppings. I'm a vegetarian but normally hate veggie pizzas: Davanni's however actually makes a good one, though I would make a point of calling ahead for pick up. The restaurants get very busy on Fridays and weekends.

Since you live in the far western 'burbs I don't think you have a lot of options in terms of good local pizza. (Uptown Minneapolis and West 7th Street in St. Paul have the best local pizzerias and Italian restaurants in the Twin Cities, imo.) That said, you also have a Green Mill Restaurant in your area. Green Mill has been around for a long time and has advertised itself as specializing in "gourmet" pizzas. I have found the quality varies too much from restaurant to restaurant to really vouch for them, though the Uptown restaurant used to serve up really good pizzas.

As a retort to your comment, however, I was in Chicago last summer and tried the pizza at Uno's, which is supposed to be the last word in Chicago deepdish pizza. The crust was cardboard-tough and tasteless and the sauce was nothing to write home about. There was tons of cheese on top, but I had asked for vegetable toppings and these were sparse. Maybe I just don't care much for deepdish pizza, but I wasn't impressed by "Chicago's best."
