Here in Kentucky a couple areas have major problems.
In Louisville (esp the western Ohio River waterfront) there are 3 coal belching power plants when fill the air with dust and mercury. Even worse are the gigantic mounds of Coal Ash which contain even higher amounts of mercury that the stack pipes. Wind storms pick up the ash and dump it in areas just downwind of the site
In Eastern KY strip mining for coal has caused major land slide and ground water problemsWhat is the greatest environmental problem where you live?TVA in Tennessee spilled coal all over. What is the greatest environmental problem where you live?
I live near a highway! What is the greatest environmental problem where you live?Mostly people like you. What is the greatest environmental problem where you live?
Stupid kids my age listening to Rap and Hip HopWhat is the greatest environmental problem where you live?Theres not really a problem where i live, well execpt pollution, but every stste has that problem( i live in phoenix)
I think that the ignorance about environmental issues are the most perplexing environmental problem in CT. People love their oversized SUV's and are still building homes that are less then efficient. What is the greatest environmental problem where you live?
Nobody can beat the shithole i'm from, they call them the TAR PONDS (seriously) they give people who live around them cancer, and pollute all the water around them. i live in cape breton, nova scotia, canada. they are ponds that the old steel plant used to dump slag into and other chemicals, now the stupid government has to pay millions and millions of dollars to clean all that waste up.
Central California: It is in a valley between two mountain ranges and serves as a bowl to trap all the smog in from the Bay Area that blows down here. What is the greatest environmental problem where you live?
I only know what I see and that is litter and the lack of recycling. I live in an upscale condo community. Hardly anyone recycles and some even tease ,e because I do. I always tell them that is someday I am to be judged and I am asked how I respected the gift of this planet I can say, I recycled, I tried to buy products that were enviormentally friendly, not tested on animals etc. I cut plastic strips that hold beverages so no animal can get caught in them etc. I am mortified at how people will tolerate trash on their lawns and by their homes. Disgusting. Even if you rent, you still live there. I have to pick up the trash on my property and about 15 of the neighbors. If I don't it will blow onto my property. The thinking that "this is someones elses job" has got to stop.
rubbish and graffiti
I live on earth.
dude i live in dallas texas its a lot worse theres pollution and litter and everything. so many cars.... well i live in a neighborhood that is pretty great with environment... not much pollution but there is litter. lets face it people!!! too much litter!!!
Worldwide, the greatest environmental problems come down to one thing and one thing only.
OVERPOPULATION
Its that simple. We have polluted the earth with far more people than the earth is capable of carrying without dramatic changes. We need to produce, produce, produce, just to support too many people. This is destroying the environment.
WE are the ultimate problem to the environment.
