How can we help to minimize environmental problems?

Cut down on your carbon emissions. Stop exhaling.How can we help to minimize environmental problems?You can help in many ways; to list them all in many ways ; to list them all in an answer like this would be both time consuming and counter productive because many of the options may not apply to your personal situation.

Think then in tactical and strategic terms.

Tactically, you personally can best make a contribution by examining your daily, weekly and yearly consumption and asking the question " How can I achieve the same result by consuming less energy?3 Why energy ? Because energy consumption, in all its forms is at the heart of the environmental problem. ( Think, cars= co2, packaging= waste= disposal problem, wasting water = loss of valuable natural asset).

I am sure that you will soon start to realise how you can help.; there are also plenty of practical magazines, books and web sites which fund your ideas.

That however is not all; the environment is being manipulated by many powerful companies, notably food producers and chemical companies supplying fertilisers and many pest and disease control chemicals. You cannot fight these alone, but, as a member of one of the societies devoted to the earths environment (Green peace etc), your voice , added to others will help. You can also lobby your MP and MEp on the subject.This is the second, "strategic" level

In short, think green , act green and spread the word

Quit using PRODUCTS. Stop eating foods that require plowing. Eat mostly large animals that eat grass. Quit going on Eco Tours and other unnecessary travel. Focus on getting your personal carbon foot print as small as possible. Reuse everything personally. Quit recycling in favor of refusing to buy things that are packaged. Live at a much lower economic level.How can we help to minimize environmental problems?Common drinking water contaminants

* * chlorine

* * fluorine

* * lead (often from old plumbing with lead pipes and solder; old drinking fountains are notorious)

* * amoebas, giardia, or other protozoa

* * other contaminants: hydrocarbon pollutants (benzene, phenol, methanol, etc.), pesticides

Distilled water may be cleaner, but regular use may lead to mineral loss from the body. Water filtration systems vary in quality in effectiveness, and must be tailored to the particularly contaminants that are present in your water. Reverse osmosis systems are good at removing heavy metal and ionic contaminants. Activated charcoal filters are best for organic chemicals (pesticides and hydrocarbons) but tend to be susceptible to bacteria and algae buildup unless processed with silver, a natural antibiotic agent with very minimal toxicity. Micropore filters are the most effective for removing bacteria, viruses, spores, and particulate matter greater than a few microns in diameter.

Personal "hygiene" and medical chemicals

* most cosmetics, except those with non-irritating vegetable and herbal ingredients

* * nail polish or remover

* * spray deodorant

* * polyester clothing or fabric (all- or part-cotton fabrics are better than 100% synthetics because electrical static charges are reduced and breathability is improved)

* plastic products in general

* plastic eyeglass frames

* false teeth

* * nylon hose or other nylon clothing

* adhesive tape

* facial creams

* wool clothing

* * rubbing alcohol (methanol)

* scented soap and shampoo

* perfumes and colognes

* * injectable phenol (as in allergy shots)

* silver amalgam dental fillings (toxicity varies widely, depending upon quality of installation; some of the alternatives may not be any better, though; get multiple opinions before having any major dentistry)

Household and occupational chemicals

* * coal or wood-burning stoves or fireplaces (efficient, well-designed venting is important)

* * leaking natural gas

* * burning natural gas

* * kerosene

* * cigarette smoke

* burning incense

* burning wax candles

* * burning pine cones or wood

* air conditioning (well-cleaned and sanitized systems are important)

* * chlorinated water (as in swimming pools)

* * dry-cleaned clothing

* * foam-rubber backed carpet

* * sponge-rubber bedding, rug pads

* * typewriter pads

* * leather or metal polishes

* * furniture wax

* * disinfectants and deodorizers

* * phenol or Lysol

* * aerosol sprays

* * household detergents

* * window-cleaning fluids

* * ammonia fumes

* * chlorine bleach

* * plastic cements (glues)

* * acrylic paint

* * rubber-based paint

* * varnish, lacquer or shellac

* * paint or varnish thinned with mineral spirits

* * turpentine or turpentine-containing paints

* * fumes from tarring roofs and roads

* * fumes from burning creosoted wood

* * termite extermination chemicals

* * insecticides

* * insecticide no-pest strips

* * insect repellent candles

* * herbicides

* * fumes from fresh newspapers

* * white-out solvent, magic markers, photocopying machines

* * fumes of inks, carbon paper, typewriter ribbons and stencils

* * fumes of carbonless duplicate forms

* * rubber tires and auto accessories

* * gasoline

* * garage fumes and odors

* * auto and motor boat exhaust

* * diesel exhaust

* * lubricating greases and crude oil

* * cars burning too much oil

* * odors of insides of new cars

* * radioactivity: direct radiation (x-rays from medical labs) or radioactive elements (decay byproducts from nuclear waste)

Home chemicals and construction materials

* * urea formaldehyde foam insulation

* * asbestos: insulation, fireproofing materials, building materials, etc.

* * fiberglass (any fiberglass must be sealed in an airtight space to prevent small air-born filaments from escaping to the interior of the house; for new houses: fiberglass is not an especially good insulator, check into alternatives)

* * particle-board (contains formaldehyde-based adhesives)

Noise pollution

* * traffic outside your home or office

* * loud music

* * workplace equipment noise

* * airports near your home or officeHow can we help to minimize environmental problems?
Shop at Goodwill, vintage and recycled clothing markets.

Stop buying trash bags and simply use the bags from your shopping trips. Use as many going out as coming in.

Be careful not to waste water or electricity.

Get an economical vehicle or if possible, go vehicle-less.

Buy food at your local farmers market.

Don't eat anything that causes harm to another being. Go Vegan.

Love Love. The only Good God is just that and He came to tell us to Love Love AND each other.

Denomination is Demonination.How can we help to minimize environmental problems?i like the idea we go back to a hunter gather society . not likely though .reason i say this is north Africa was fertile before Greeks and Romans got to it meaning tore it down to build their empires ! greed and sometimes laziness are most of the problems laziness meaning we throw our trash everywhere because it to much work to dispose of it correctly .greedy don't think its cost saving these days or ever did .but government will fine them but never pay anyone to fix thing don't help .not that its easy hopefully there are people who like a good riddle .Mississippi is mess up all the way down ,try looking commercial boats not just sport fishing boats mite by a start . Minnesota dnr game wardens if you not familiar with Minnesota terms active when it comes to making sure game fishers are not spreading mil fol zebra mussels and the like but with the both Mississippi river and lake superior what bought those ,yes fishing get of the credit sometimes bait fish like gold fish without question has been used ,but its checked for years though i question weather Edmond Fitzgerald was for example ..and cheaper to pay the fines seems to be the attitude of those who work in like mill shipping chopping old growths so japan gets vintage toilet paper ,and the country's that sell it don't even make it then sell is stupid too ,sorry i am pissed about California chopping old growths and most sold outside the country ,don't matter i should have spiked more tree though ! oh then have to listen to cancer valley nick name for rumford Maine tell me i should use plastic toilet paper and yes i will as soon as its sold.but anyway another riddle androscoggin river. the mill is causing the whole community of rumford mexico and dixfield Maine high cancer rate not just mill workers but hopefully dropping eighty percent of the Boston children s cancer ward come from don't know current averages but they bragged that when i was there ,in this case try mill workers for child abuse mite be a plain ,since death don't scare them ! but to sum this up instead of just fining take some of that fine money call up those that give a dam like green peace or other groups like that tell go for it solve it , to late too give a hoot not pollute that's done the American Indian is still crying bout what you all done to his country ! its sad everywhere not just US ,but maybe if we all try even some is better than none though ,we mite have a more heal effect on mother earth than we have now.
bring down pollution.

Reduce over exploitation of the environment.

Try to plant more trees, eat vegetarian etc etcHow can we help to minimize environmental problems?
