Discuss an environmental problem that you feel is significant in your town or city. What are some causes? Are ?I won't give you 200 to 300 words, but I'll give you an idea to expand on yourself. Here in Phoenix, Arizona, the city has expanded greatly in the past decade, and large amounts of land has been covered by asphalt. This has raised the temperature during the summer by several degrees, and has been enough to push away the monsoons that used to come in August.
Secondly, also due to expansion of the city, people have planted lawns and gardens and trees and such. In most places in the U.S. that might be fine, but here in the desert that creates problems with water requirements. It also creates far more pollen than ever existed here before, creating trouble for allergy sufferers. It also attracts more birds than would otherwise stay. Whereas many cities create a sort of "dead zone" in their natural environment, the Phoenix metro creates a "live zone" in its, and that turns out to be trouble for the environment, too.Discuss an environmental problem that you feel is significant in your town or city. ok this is for my city, it might not be true for yours:
oklahoma city is a driving city. it was designed for cars. most city streets lack sidewalks. There are only a couple of bike lanes in the whole town and biking is unusual and dangerous. bus routes are extremely limited. there is no subway or train service. shopping and employment centers are distant from residential neighborhoods, necessessitating that we basically drive everywhere. this leads to smog and unnecessary emissions from automobiles. It leads to us using too much gasoline. Unfortunately the structure of our city does not change easily. Where would the money come from to build sidewalks or bike trails? how easy would it be to move the buildings we already have? How difficult to acquire the right away, build train tracks and make a mass transit system profitable? How about the cultural changes required for people to think of something other than hopping in their cars whenever they need to go somewhere. The carbon monoxide
but yes, you need to think about your city. are there smokestacks polluting the air? subdivisions being built that take away the ecosystem from animals/plants? are factories discharging warm water or waste into rivers? do people litter? what happens to all your sewage? are there lots of animals being grown for human comsumtion? what is your town like?Discuss an environmental problem that you feel is significant in your town or city. What are some causes? Are ?The point of your having been told to answer that question is so that YOU think about it and look into it. Don't you want to be smart and have a good life?Discuss an environmental problem that you feel is significant in your town or city. What are some causes? Are ?
Erm, no. You could've at least made it less obvious that we were doing your homework for you.
